Yanping High School is the first contemporary school for higher education in Taiwan and currently has the most outstanding academic performances. The firefly is the school's emblem, representing the brightness of knowledge; the white horizontal belt represents the progress of grades and morals year after year; and the green earth represents the fruitful green earth that grows solid rice ears. The green, white and natural light and shadow changes are the basis of the building colors.
The new syllabus and school guidelines is different from the unidirectional transfer of knowledge in the traditional syllabus and the new one emphasizes diversified learning and interactive communication.
The circular horizontal bands randomly string students together, and different viewing angles create different positioning relationships, forming a multi-dimensional perspective that echoes the new curriculum's view of diversity in education. The vertical stacking and dramatic proportional relationship also make the atrium an unparalleled atrium of light.
The exterior is enclosed and simple, avoiding east-west sunlight and the vibrating noise of the viaduct.
