Designed by GALA Architects with L22, the project aims to reactivate an abandoned quarry in Baoan district, Shenzhen City, China. With an ecologically sensitive site situation, the project site shows a characteristic landform of the mine, surrounded by mountains; a pool is generated from the flood in the valley. To this end, we aim to achieve both ecological restoration, and low impact development.
The floating circle inspired by the morphological characteristics of the site - surrounded by hills, gathered water, a complete circle. We hope that through the trend of storing wind and gathering air, we can perfectly combine architecture and nature together.
To fully embrace the natural resource given by the site, we expand the valley floor waters to form ecological wetlands. an ultra-luxury hotel rooms is introduced to the project, on the water, with a light posture. It becomes a ring of water with 360 degrees of invincible scenery. A cultural center is incorporated in the water, forming a unique underwater courtyard. Along with the project A sports center arises. It creates an ecological slope that integrates with the environment, and completes the composition of the mountain.
