Taking Amsterdam, the city of port, as inspiration, the designer wishes to bring in a lively architectural impression full of colors. The building is located near the seaside, which is rather wide and spacious enough to show the complete exterior appearance. By proposing an avant-garde concept, the designer aims to challenge and shape up the skyline of residential architecture in Taiwan. The residence, designed for families of all ages, is hoped to connect closely with daily living and everyday aesthetic, through its appearance, landscape, interior design and amenities.
The culture of color usage on buildings in Taiwan is rather restrained. While most of the metropolitan architectures are in earth tones or greyish shades, the designer daringly chooses white as the main color of the building. Vibrant use of colors, materials, and irregular layout makes a striking difference on the urban landscape. The design applies Japanese traditional colors of kimono on the frames of balconies; ice green, barely white, patrinia flower and arrow feather, symbolizing purity, newborn, adolescence, and marriage, these life processes in a family, integrate blessings of life into the design concept.
