This interior design planning project is a residence with a total living area of approximately 70 square meters. The homeowners are a middle-aged couple. After close communication and resourceful planning, the designers have realized the philosophy of subtraction for the homeowners, injecting careful ideas into every corner of the space, and constructing a modern minimalist house with layers in a limited living area. Besides, the space is designed to be a family residence or a holiday guest house. It is supposed to be a stress-releasing resort and fits the owner's low-profile and introverted personality. Therefore, the designer has utilized many low-saturated colors and created a comfortable and therapeutic atmosphere so the dwellers can relax and enjoy themselves. However, no matter how simple the living space is, there is still a need for storage, so the design team has carried out their thoughtful design details into every corner of the space and brilliantly set up a lot of storage space. These storage spots are cleverly hidden behind the cabinet doors to satisfy the homeowner’s needs and present an aesthetic visual expression. Entering the foyer, the warm gray and light wood tones with a white base are planned. One is applied to the gray cabinet, while the other is applied separately to the upper and lower cabinets to offer distinct styles. Walking into the open living and dining room, one will notice that the sunlight coming in through the floor-to-ceiling windows brings warmth to the space. The black sofa is placed in the living room to harmonize the color weight of the space. The designer cleverly uses linear elements to introduce the area: the linear lights on the ceiling, the dividing lines on the TV wall, and the linear sense of furniture to add a sense of layering.
