Slow Soul

This project is located in a peaceful alley in Taipei City which is always bustling with noise and excitement. The house owner desired to have a home where he can enjoy calm and serene after work.
In the living room, we use the neutral color of oak to make the whole space warm and part of dark wood to increase a sense of stability. The long type ceiling made of dark wood reveals the widest length of the house. The use of arc shape not only increases the agility of the space but also makes people ignore the feeling of oppression from the low beam. Also, we use the materials same as sofa-side wall to hide the door, which perfectly make the space complete and neat.
This project is challenging because of the limited space and the low ceiling. Despite these limitations, we still effectively separate the public space and the bedroom. Simultaneously taking care of the quality of life of the owner and the functionality is the biggest achievement in this case.
