Sea of clouds

The design process started before the house was finished. Therefore, the construction is a little tweaked base on the owner’s preference on Japanese philosophy, Zen, and added in some chic and relaxing touches in a contemporary way, which gives the space a refined and elegant vibe. By using hardware to close edges of the woodworks, the designer solves the problem of veneer boarding being damaged due to everyday use. The staircase is expressed in a widening design with built-in guide lights, providing safety for walking at night. Because of a bigger beam, the designer opens up the celling and adds different of levels of layers to make the room seem bigger.

The project as home to an extended family, the design priority is to provide an open, spacious while exquisite enough space for the residents to grow intimacy between family members. And the designer delivers by editing out partitions and elongating the sight with vertical lattices.

Comprehensive revisions were made to the waterproofing of building terraces and bathrooms and wiring planning, in order to solve the problems of water leakage and insufficient wiring caused by poor construction by the original builder.
