Featuring vivid and vibrant interiors, the Digital Transformation Center of German automotive and industrial supplier Schaeffler was conceived to help develop a more creative and agile mind-set in the company by providing a work environment that stimulates design thinking, promotes innovation and delivers a youthful energy to a long-established firm.
Following extensive staff consultation, interiors form an interactive environment that encourages open exchange of ideas and which supports different stages of the design thinking process. A buzzing employee hub with transformable workshop spaces transitions into a creative and agile teamwork area. The rear of the office houses an area for focused work.
These functionally and atmospherically different zones are linked by various focus booths, meetings rooms, prototyping spaces and informal meeting areas, inserted within the core of the office building. Built in irregular shapes, this communication core creates curvilinear connecting spaces, adding fluidity and visual interest to an otherwise rectangular building.
Aesthetically, the space has a semi-industrial feel reflecting Schaeffler’s digital and engineering background.
