Returning to Earth

When COVID-19 meets the Information Age, an outbreak of loneliness resembling that of the pandemic spares no one. The designer is inspired to make an installation having features of a rocket, conveying the concept that “temporary departure is for a better reunion in the future”.

The cylinder-shaped installation simulates a vehicle, which is fashioned from a variety of materials such as copper, stainless steel, glass, baking paint, etc. coupled with the classical luster of copper and silken gold leaf, put together a modern nostalgic aesthetics. In addition, the sturdy physical property of metal combined with forging and polishing handicrafts contributes to a lustrous finish which brings about a low-maintenance quality.

With a door that swings and the capacity of a man, the interactive art has utility for short-term isolation, which goes beyond the superficial aspect of beauty, showing humanistic concern.

Imagine escaping into a world of peace and tranquility in a spacecraft and beginning a journey of self-care. Explore the unknown, look for the way out, and eventually recover the hope to return, rejoicing at the first breath of Earth.
