This design project was interpreted with extremely simple practical aesthetics. It introduced the concept of “IN-BETWEEN” by creating versatile ways of using the public domain. With vague demarcation, family members can use the place individually while staying in the same space. This does not disconnect the family’s relationship while replacing it with more sparkles and surprises under different usage scenarios.
When designing, the designer wanted to create an extra but complete foyer and storage space under the existing building structure, while presenting the living room, dining room, and kitchen as a whole. Therefore, semi-open shelves and flow twists were used to create the foyer. At the same time, half transparent glass doors, ceiling designs, and other techniques were used to present an individual living room, dining room, and kitchen while maintaining their wholeness. Healthy and toxic-free materials were used while presenting harmony and balance among different materials and color tones.
