This is a modern high end sustainable house with a minimalistic design in mind. Loosing the barrier of inside and outside was of utmost importance. We designed a glass house for today. All three sides of the house open up and become one with the outside. The clients can feel like they are living in nature and become part of nature at all times. Next priority was to design a glass house where no columns on the inside are visible to enrich the feeling of space. Doing that was possible using steel structure and wood. We had to design the steel structure again and again to come up with a solution where the structure becomes harmonious with the interiors. Piarma is a 132 sqm house with a livingroom, 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and a swimming pool. The other challenge was to design a house that could be manufactured offsite, assembled it on site with a budget below 200.000 Euro's including interiors. We carefully designed each part of the house from walls to kitchen, bathrooms, furniture, structure, etc... one by one so that each material, product, can fit like a lego to decrease labor costs. Piarma House is the result of research in depth, great attention to detail and precision in design.
