Modern Zen

Inspired by the concept of “Zen,” this design represents the pursuit of tranquility and stability in life. The three-generation family consists of members living and working in Japan, China and Taiwan, contributing to its cultural richness and long history of the family. Thus, the designer wishes to embody the family bonding and its harmony.

Incorporating the zenful window lattice and the handicraft techniques, the modern minimalist style has its smooth and zenful characteristics. With thoughtful material selection of purity and use of techniques, the design contains symbolic meanings, flourishing throughout the living space.

Aged green crystallized stones are pasted to form a circular relief art on the main wall of the foyer. With inner lighting, it symbolizes a thriving career and future like sunrise. The collage of stone crystals is like a splash ink painting with a clear moon that lights up the space. The inspiration of completeness and starting point of calmness set the tone for the whole space. The two semicircles composed of multiple lines connect the emotions of family members, while the image of concentric circles represents unity of the family.
