The concept of “Mirror Mountain” is steamed from the idea of spatial depth, crafting the internal space between “front and back, left and right”, to maximize the sense of extension and privacy internally – To inject the depth of living into the house.
Within the single residential floor, the staircase is pushed to the center, acting as the central character in the space, driving the space to generate more liveliness of activities within domestic interiors.
The staircase is considered as a continuously changing wall in the space. Following the narrow staircase and entering the second floor, discovering a space that is opened from the inside out, set as the core for everyday social interactions within the household. The dining table is not designed for a singular purpose, it is also considered as a site that sits in between the kitchen and staircase, operating in the space as the gathering place where family activities happen.
Terrace boxes, balconies in combination with eaves cantilevered off the elevations, establishing unique characteristics between housing units within the overall collective structure.
To live within the house, as if wondering through a windowed mountain.
