Love on Chinese Valentine's Day・Love leads to Hongming Lake

With the global pandemic slowly subsiding and the economy bouncing back, Yilan, Taiwan has launched a series of "Night Economy" events in celebration of the upcoming Chinese Valentine's Day. This project is part of that series and aims to enhance the lighting and ambiance of the event venue. The planning also incorporates the ancient tale of the "Cowherd and the Weaver Girl " to add depth and meaning to the site. The hope is that by creating a captivating atmosphere, visitors will be drawn to the location, resulting in increased tourism and growth for the arts and culture industries.
The lighting design for Valentine's Day in Taiwan incorporates elements from the Chinese story of the Cowherd and the Weaver Girl, including the God of Marriage, the Magpie, the Weaver Girl, and the Cowherd, as well as symbols of love like the church and heart. This creates a special event scenography that celebrates love in a unique way.
It’s important to note that the lighting layout at the venue was designed with the natural surroundings in mind.
