Lotus Island Art Museum

The Lotus Island Art Museum is located on Lotus Island in Putuo District, Zhoushan City, Zhejiang Province, China. The project is located on a deserted island in a harsh environment, facing difficulties such as typhoons and waves, no grass growing, no transportation, water, heating and electricity and any construction machinery. Fortunately, the design team was inspired by the beach rocks, vines, rocks and tiles on the deserted island. By integrating these basic elements of nature, the design team was able to create a work of unity between man and nature with the appearance of the sea.With an overall area of approximately 400 square meters, the Lotus Island Art Museum is open to local residents and visitors free of charge and aims to convey and popularize the Zen culture of Putuo Mountain and the maritime culture of Zhoushan to the general public.
