Guangci is Taipei's largest urban renewal project in recent years. The Guangci Social Welfare Building plays the role of a multi-functional care institution in the region, including the community clinic and rehabilitation center of the Health Bureau; the mental and physical disability center and baby care center, which is a combined medical and nursing care institution with home support as the main focus and life support as a supplement. The Guangci Administrative Center, which includes police stations, district offices, libraries, etc., has a complete administrative content to serve not only the elderly and the disadvantaged nearby, but also to implement the policy of taking care of the aging community. The building's configuration is based on the principle of trees in houses, preserving the existing trees and green spaces on the base of the building, and the corridor running through the whole area and linking the MRT entrances and exits. The green belt interfaces buildings, the natural environment, and the community. The centripetal space is a concept of medical and healthcare integration. The platform surrounded by layers of suburban hills has different activity themes. For people with disabilities or dementia, the sunlight-filled atrium brings a sense of light and chronology. The light, the corridor, the atrium, and the platform are all one, so caregivers and cared-for people of different ages can accompany each other and live as one. Guangci is a community on the Hill, a home for many people to walk around each other, with greenery and sunshine, and a place where home and the city merge together. The living room of the care unit is adjacent to the nursing station, which provides immediate care, and there are many corners to meet the different needs of people. The living space is geographically aligned with the west-facing Taipei 101 and the southeast-facing Tiger Mountain, allowing people to enjoy the natural and pleasant atmosphere.
