ENOC is the petrol station of the future, located at the Dubai Expo 2020 Site, the project employs principles from bio-mimicry, designing and producing materials that are modelled on biological entities. ENOC Station was presented with the LEED platinum certification, world’s first station to receive such honour.
The design is inspired by the rich heritage of the UAE’s traditions in the form of its national tree, the Ghaf tree a local resilient tree species that grows in a harsh desert environment , As a symbol of sustainability it was selected as a central source of inspiration for the design. linking the past to the present.
ENOC is also the first station in the region to incorporate an on-grid wind turbine and carbon fibre in the construction of its canopy.
The new service station’s systems have been deployed to enhance energy conservation, such as the use of carbon filtration technologies to recycle and reuse grey water for irrigation, significantly reducing outdoor water consumption. In addition, the station is equipped with drinkable air units that use ozonisation techniques to convert water molecules from humidity in the air into drinkable water for staff onsite.
