At moss. architects, we aim to merge indoor and outdoor elements to create an interactive space, in hopes to ignite patron’s desire to enjoy sunlight and interact with nature. This project, Elefoto, is a photography studio that offers a suite of services, including costumes, makeup, photo editing, and photography.
With a five-meter-high glass cladding, this space bathes in abundant natural light. A communal area is arranged in front of the curtain wall, where an indoor garden & makeup area reside beneath a wooden ceiling trellis. This evokes the ambiance of a flowering pavilion, with outdoor mosaic pavers reminiscent of pebble paths, offering a serene respite. Natural light also permeates into the store’s front, serving to beckon passersby in the mall to leisurely detour inside.
To foster interaction, makeup tables were optimized. Traditional tables hinder conversation among friends. The improved design arranged 3 stations into a triangular island, encouraging the exchange of styling ideas, transforming the solitary act of makeup into opportunities for bonding among friends.
This is a space that not only captures images but also the essence of human connection and inspiration.
