Beigang Township is one of the famous religious places in Taiwan and has developed amazing crafts and industries. The 2023 Beigang Lantern Festival reinterprets traditional culture and brings together 11 professional artisans to introduce the theme of "Beigang, Splendid Time" from multiple perspectives. At the same time, the event combines traditional elements and innovative technology to create works with local culture, accessibility, and entertainment.
The lantern festival takes the entire town of Beigang as its base, with 20 lanterns linking religious sites and leading the audience through historical buildings and temples. Visitors can also experience the historical beauty of the ride. The theme of the lanterns also focuses on the values of sustainability, industry, and blessing to promote the local cultural characteristics. Coincidentally, the event comes at the same time as the pilgrimage, providing a soothing experience for people in the post-epidemic era and promoting Taiwan's traditional arts to the world.
