The owner intends to create the first alcohol-free bar for those who treat their friends with alcohol but themselves don’t drink. He adores Taiwan’s social atmosphere that mixes the Japanese and Chinese cultures, and aims to offer his customers unusual visual enjoyment in a WABI SABI solitary style space. This project is based on an old building remained since the period of Japanese occupation, which has been listed as a Historic Preservation site, therefore, neither the exterior and interior materials nor the wall colors should be changed, thus the designer can only add to it from design to decoration, without damaging the indoor materials. Both the old Japanese-style roofing tile and the original wooden tile structure are preserved, with old items and deadwood used for decoration, a bar counter made of obsolete railway sleepers welded with dead trees and wood, to start a new life course for these old materials. This not only greatly reduces the cost, but also leaves a trace of time shared by the old items and the house.
