This is an experimental textile design project proposes the alternative way of natural dyeing. The series of printed textiles on this project are dyed and printed with extracted dye bath and paste from food waste of inedible part of vegetables from everyday life, questioning the known natural dyeing method which requires to consume specific plants to use it as dyestuff. This is a spontaneous response for the recent rise of environmental concerns as an independent textile design practitioner need to work on sustainability in mind as much as possible. This project is based on a yearlong research of vegetable waste dye.

Plain woven wool fabric is used, as the protein-based fiber is the most readily dyed fibers compared to cellulose fibers.
Making process followed mordanting of basic natural dyeing methods to pursue its simplicity. Alum and iron are used to fix the color, because those are regarded as environmentally safer option among the basic metal mordants.
The stripe pattern is printed by screen printing following immersion dye, enhances the contrast of the dyed parts and mordanted parts demonstrating a wide variety of colors can be dyed from the vegetable waste.
